IndiGo has cancelled all its flights to and from Saudi Arabia’s Riyadh, Jeddah, Dammam and Madinah until October 17 amid heightened security concerns in the region linked to continuing attacks by Iran-backed Houthi rebels in Yemen. The airline issued a travel advisory on Tuesday, October 13, 2026, urging passengers to check their flight status on its official website before going to the airport.
IndiGo stated that timely updates are being shared on the contact details provided at the time of booking and that its support teams remain available to assist with any queries or concerns. Authorities have extended the closure of Riyadh’s King Khalid International Airport until Saturday, October 17. The Saudi civil aviation authority said operations were suspended to allow completion of procedures ensuring the safety and operational readiness of the airport’s facilities. The attacks have disrupted air travel in the Saudi capital.
On Saturday, an aerial attack killed thirteen people, including an Indian citizen, and injured 300 others. The following day, another attack killed one person and injured 11 others. Other Indian carriers have also adjusted operations: Air India and Air India Express extended their flight suspensions until October 15, while Akasa Air extended its suspensions for flights to and from Riyadh and Jeddah until October 17.
Passengers with IndiGo bookings are advised to monitor updates through the airline’s website and the contact details given at booking before proceeding to the airport.
