TWICE leader Jihyo, also known as Park Ji-hyo, announced on Wednesday, October 21, 2026, that she is leaving JYP Entertainment after 21 years with the agency. The 29-year-old singer shared the news in an Instagram post and said she has set up her own company, Emithaus. She made clear that the move does not affect her work with the group.
In her statement, Jihyo said she is bringing her journey with JYP, which began in childhood, to a close. She joined the agency at age eight and trained for about a decade before debuting with TWICE in 2015. She thanked those at JYP who supported her growth over the years and said she will always value the time and memories shared there.
Jihyo described independence as a choice about her future rather than an end to the past. Emithaus, named after the word “emit,” is meant as a place where she can freely explore new possibilities. She added that she will approach all future decisions and activities with greater care and responsibility.
She stressed that leaving the agency does not mean parting from TWICE. “TWICE is an irreplaceable and precious part of my life,” she wrote. Jihyo said she looks forward to continuing to share the stage with the members and create more memories together for a long time. Her departure follows similar moves by groupmates Jeongyeon, who joined Varo Entertainment, and Chaeyoung.
