Russian drones killed two people near Ukraine’s second-largest city of Kharkiv overnight, Regional Governor Oleh Syniehubov said on Telegram on Wednesday. The attack also left 11 others with stress reactions after striking private houses and causing other damage. Separate Russian strikes hit Kyiv and a university in Kremenchuk.
Syniehubov reported the overnight drone assault on the Kharkiv region. It damaged private homes and produced additional effects beyond the two deaths and the stress reactions among the 11 residents.
In the capital, Mayor Vitalii Klitschko said on Telegram that a Russian airstrike struck a high-story apartment building and transport infrastructure, sparking fires. Local authorities in the Poltava region reported a strike on a university in Kremenchuk that injured two people.
The attacks occurred ahead of a scheduled meeting on Wednesday between US envoy Steve Witkoff and Russian President Vladimir Putin. A US official said Witkoff held “constructive” talks with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in Norway on Tuesday.
